Job Summary:
Key member of the client’s senior leadership team, the Vice President of Finance will report directly to the Executive Vice President and will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities within the organization. The Vice President of Finance will work closely with the leadership team to develop and implement financial strategies that drive growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Analysis:
  • Develop and implement financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to support the company's strategic objectives.
  • Conduct ongoing financial analysis to assess business performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
  • Provide insightful financial reports and presentations to the executive team, highlighting key findings and recommendations.

Financial Reporting and Compliance:
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial reports for the executive team, external auditors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations and standards, including GAAP.
  • Oversee and ensure compliance of company’s 401k & Profit-Sharing plan, annual plan audit and tax filings. Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to ensure efficient and accurate administration of the plan.

Cash Management and Treasury:
  • Manage the company's cash flow, including monitoring cash balances, optimizing working capital, and overseeing cash forecasting.
  • Manage the company’s investment in accordance with the corporate investment policy.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions to secure favorable terms for financing and investments.
  • Develop and implement strategies to minimize financial risk and maximize returns on investment.

Supervisory Responsibility and Financial Operations:
  • Responsible for hiring, leading, coaching, and mentoring the Controller and the accounting team. Provide clear direction and guidance to the team, set performance expectations and foster a positive work environment.
  • Oversee the accounting function, including general ledger management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, store accounting and inventory control.
 
  • Collaborate with the Controller to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions and adherence to internal controls.
  • Implement process improvements to streamline financial operations and enhance efficiency.

Strategic Financial Planning:
  • Work closely with the leadership team to develop long-term financial strategies that align with the company's growth objectives.
  • Evaluate potential investment opportunities and provide financial analysis to support decision-making.
  • Monitor industry trends and economic conditions to identify risks and opportunities for the organization.
  • Perform any other duties that are assigned by management.

Skills/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. MBA or CPA is preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of proven experience in a senior financial leadership role
  • Experience in the convenience store/gasoline industry required.
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Solid understanding of financial regulations, including GAAP.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and management abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
