Seeking an experienced IT professional to join their IT leadership team as a key second-in-command department contributor.

Responsibilities and Duties

 
  • Develop and maintain the company’s data center, infrastructure, and assets used across the enterprise including but not limited to servers, networks, firewalls, switches and point-of-sale system
  • Maintain and support the on premise IT infrastructure of the company’s multi-unit retail business, including retail point-of-sale equipment
  • Provide engineer-level support for the company’s data centers, networks, telecommunications, systems and commercially-of-the-shelf and custom developed applications
  • Maintain services and ensure availability, reliability, security, latency and overall health of the company’s information systems
  • Provide capacity planning, change management and emergency response to enterprise-wide issues
  • Responsible for the administration, support, development, integration, asset management, and documentation of servers, network and telecom assets or initiatives. The Site Reliability Engineer participates in all phases of the IT Service Lifecycle as necessary, conducting root cause analysis, applying corrective action plans, and creating post mortem reports
  • Responsible for administration, support, development, integration, and documentation of commercially off-the-shelf and custom applications used across the enterprise
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in all phases of the software-development-lifecycle including but not limited to conducting root cause analysis, applying corrective action plans, and completing post-mortem reports
  • Engage in the entire lifecycle (from inception, design, planning, deployment, operation and maintenance) continuous improvement) of IT service management of existing and next generation IT platform
  • Contribute to the company’s ongoing due diligence of next generation point-of-sale system and next generation back office enterprise system. Position the department for an expected implementation of systems and organize projects against this effort.
  • Liaison for the IT department and work with functional managers to drive projects from inception to completion
  • Be available daily for on-call status support of the company’s IT infrastructure to support the Director of IT and subordinate department team members.

Qualifications

 
  • 5 or more years of progressive experience in IT engineering roles and as part of a matrixed team supporting a diverse range of technologies infrastructure from data center to retail point of sale equipment
  • At least a bachelor's degree, in Computer Science, MIS or another technical field. Master degree preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of virtualization, storage, servers, and data protection (Veeam) and an In- depth knowledge of virtualization (VMWare) and three-tier data-center architecture, hyper- converged architecture
  • Working knowledge of Edge computing a huge-plus
  • Experience supporting IT infrastructure in multi-unit retail, including on premise point of sale systems strongly desired
  • Working knowledge of web development technologies (HMTL/CSS/JavaScript/JSON/AJAX), APIs, SQL (views, stored procedures, CRUD, ETL)
  • C-Store and Fuel Marketing experience strongly desired.
  • Experience working with PDI Technologies strongly desired
  • Experience in code-refactoring/migration a plus
  • A strong command and confident use of the English language (85% or above) in both oral and in writing
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work efficiently and productively
  • Capable of exercising extreme discretion and independent judgment
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally
