Title: Sr. Financial Analyst - Real Estate and Capital Projects

Description:

The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for development and analysis of all retail capital investment proposals, periodic reviews of market planning, development of model assumptions for all financial models, and working with key stakeholders of the retail team to review investment project opportunities. The Senior Financial Analyst will assist in the continued development and implementation of retail’s planning strategy in three components: build, operate, and harvest. The incumbent will also play a pivotal role on special projects as such opportunities are identified and reviewed.

The primary responsibility of the position is to assist the retail team in development and review of new site opportunities and existing site redevelopment opportunities. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for developing and analyzing all pertinent business models and presentation of these models and investment proposals to the senior corporate management team.

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Developing investment proposals to investment committee. The proposals are developed with fellow department team members with input from key stakeholders in other departments.
  • Building and analyzing all retail investment models for the company’s investment proposals. This may include sensitivity analysis to test key assumptions for evaluation of investment opportunities.
  • Working with the real estate team to review and analyze new site opportunities, existing site redevelopment opportunities, purchase of ground lease sites, etc.
  • Developing retail’s market plan with input from key stakeholders within the organization to maximize long-term investment returns.
  • Working with the wholesale fuel operations team to review new business opportunities such as dealer / jobber supply contracts and renewals.
  • Evaluating metrics of new and existing site opportunities including traffic patterns, demographics, psychographics, competitive landscape, and co-tenant landscape to develop model assumptions for investment opportunities.
  • Managing the new development process which includes scheduling meetings with key stakeholders to develop project proposals and financial models for investment opportunities.
  • Assisting in special project development, which includes review of acquisition opportunities and divestitures.

 

Qualifications

  • BA in Business Administration, Economics, or Finance is preferred.
  • Seasoned financial analysis and modelling experience.
  • Strong knowledge of retail real estate and real estate analytics
  • Ability to work well in teams.
  • Communications skills; both orally and in writing.
  • An understanding of finance (including familiarity with measuring investment returns) and an in-depth knowledge of company financial modelling tools are essential.
  • A general understanding of real estate analytics and valuation.
  • Presentation skills.
