Title: VP of Retail Operations
Region: Pacific Northwest
Compensation: $ 170,000.00 Yearly

The VP of C-Store Operations is required to be familiar with the concepts, practices, and procedures of the client company and must have a demonstrated ability to lead and direct retail management professionals. The VP of C-Store Operations must communicate effectively to share the company’s objectives and expectations and must build a team of cooperative and mutually supportive management personnel to maximize bottom-line profits, as well as delivering excellent customer service. The position continually assesses regional and site strengths, opportunities and weaknesses, and communicates with company owners to provide accurate assessments.


Position Information:

  • Reporting directly to company leadership, this role provides strategic and operational management for all convenience store and petroleum retail locations
  • Identify, assess and develop strategies and action plans to address operational and marketing issues with the objective of achieving best practices
  • Coaching, training, mentoring and developing District Managers, as well as participation in GM recruiting / hiring efforts
  • Full P&L responsibilities, including the development, implementation and gap analysis of sales, margin, expense and profit targets.
  • Maintain strong field presence to ensure implementation of all programs/processes and excellent operational execution
  • Differentiate from the competition by outstanding execution and identifying product and marketing opportunities
  • Strategic and tactical accountabilities.
  • Identification of new business opportunities within the company’s desired strategic growth areas.
  • Assume lead role in collaborative efforts with marketing in the development of comprehensive retail marketing plans, including store planograms, and ensure full implementation of marketing’s programs
  • Strengthen and maximize collaborative efforts with peers to ensure customer experience is optimized for all retail location product offerings


Candidate Requirements:

  • Prior retail operations management experience, specifically the supervision of District, Region and / or Division Managers and development / implementation of strategic initiatives
  • Strong and progressing experience in the convenience store / petroleum sector
  • Food service operations experience highly preferred
  • Track record of successes in mentoring team members and management
  • Track record of effective P&L management
  • Prior strategic roles with regards to C-store operations and marketing
  • Demonstrable successes in increasing sales and margins, in addition to normal cost control measures
  • Multi-faceted background in petroleum and convenience marketing, category management, merchandising, sales, HR, Training, etc. highly preferred
  • Four-year business oriented BS / BA degree
  • Demonstrated track record of continuous improvement and drive to achieve best-in-class results
