Position Summary:


Client needs a strategic and results-oriented Layout and Merchandising professional to support their growth initiatives. The successful candidate will own the responsibility for establishing and implementing the format strategy for convenience retail to ensure that each store format is maximized in terms of range and layout in support of the business sales and profitability target achievement. The person in this role will work closely with the innovation group, the convenience retail team, and the design and construction team (including external partners) to support the deployment of new stores, converting existing stores and transitioning acquired stores. 


Responsibilities:

  • Analyze customer missions and sales data to determine the best merchandising layout and format for each store.
  • Develop and manage store format layouts and new format projects.
  • Lead integration of newly acquired sites, aligning them with the retail group's formats strategy.
  • Integrate convenience retail and formats initiatives seamlessly with store operations.
  • Lead, train, motivate, and mentor a team of 5 direct reports.
  • Managing and delivering multiple high-profile projects simultaneously.

      

 

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years experience of the convenience retail business and/or category management.
  • Merchandising and related space planning software experience highly desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field/or equivalent education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of retail fundamentals of buying, assorting, placement, merchandising and retail operational processes.
  • Retail formats project experience specifically in food service is a huge plus.
  • Experience with leading, training, motivating, and mentoring a team of direct reports
