As they scale their business, they seek a dynamic and experienced Senior Convenience Store Operations Executive to lead their multi-unit operations and drive performance across an expanding portfolio.

Position Summary

The Senior Vice President (SVP) / Executive Vice President (EVP) of Convenience Store Operations is responsible for overseeing the overall operations, strategic direction, and profitability of our convenience store portfolio. This executive will play a critical role in driving operational efficiencies, integrating acquired businesses, enhancing customer experience, and maximizing financial performance. Reporting directly to the CEO, this leader will spearhead best-in-class operational strategies while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership & Growth

    • Develop and execute operational strategies to enhance store performance and support aggressive growth objectives.

    • Lead the integration of newly acquired convenience store brands, ensuring seamless transitions and alignment with corporate goals.

    • Identify and implement best practices in store operations, customer engagement, and technology utilization.

  • Operations Management

    • Oversee multi-unit convenience store operations, ensuring operational excellence across all locations.

    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational benchmarks to optimize efficiency, profitability, and customer service.

    • Develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve consistency and reduce costs.

  • Financial & Performance Optimization

    • Drive financial performance by optimizing store-level profitability, labor management, and inventory controls.

    • Develop and manage budgets, P&L statements, and financial reporting for operational performance tracking.

    • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and revenue-enhancing opportunities.

  • Talent Development & Team Leadership

    • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team, including regional and district managers.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years of senior-level experience in multi-unit retail, convenience store, or fuel operations.

  • Proven track record of leading large-scale operations and driving profitability in a high-growth environment.

  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions, particularly in post-acquisition integration and operational harmonization.

  • Strong financial acumen, with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.

  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.

  • Deep understanding of the convenience store industry, including fuel operations, foodservice, and retail merchandising.

  • Strong knowledge of emerging industry trends, technologies, and regulatory considerations.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred).
