Our Client is changing the way people think about convenience stores, and as the Manager of Merchandising and Category Management you’ll play a key role in the organization. The position owns the assortment, purchasing, pricing strategy, and manages the vendor relationships for all merchandise categories to deliver the company's retail financial plan.. You'll work with the Lead Merchandiser to collaborate on planograms, store layout designs and implementation. You can look forward to collaborating with the Marketing Manager to ensure all assortment and promotional strategies comply with company branding standards.


Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provides day-to-day leadership.
  • Drives the strategic direction of the area with the goal of making the client's stores the most compelling place for their customers to shop by focusing on pricing, assortment, brands, and store presentation.
  • Keeps informed and updated on industry trends and competitor strategies to favorably position the company's stores in the competitive marketplace.
  • Working with the Operations, Merchandising, and Marketing teams to develop short term and long-term category plans and then operationalizes the plans.
  • Follows company branding standards to ensure compliance in all promotions and communications.
  • Cultivates a positive and productive relationship with vendors to ensure exclusive merchandise, product launches and best delivery.
  • Collaborates with the Marketing Manager to produce monthly promotions for all stores.
  • Directly supervises Price Book and Merchandise teams.
  • Supervises, mentors, trains, and develops direct report(s).
  • Participates in the budgeting process and responsible for the direction and financial performance of merchandise sales.

 Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree specializing in marketing, merchandising or equivalent work experience.
  • Six (6) to eight (8) years of experience in a combination of merchandising and category management.
 Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong overall knowledge of convenience store merchandising.
  • Ability to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish assigned work for self and team.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to use problem solving skills and root cause analysis. Good decision-making skills.
  • Ability to establish constructive and cooperative interpersonal business relationships with individuals working at varying levels of the organization.
